Got Root? - Warning: next Android update might break quite a few root apps

For those with root access on their Nexus devices, this sounds a little worrisome.

Forthcoming version of Android may break root apps

All the more reason to root and freeze updates.
Or, as above, only run a custom ROM.:thumbup::thumbup:

Well I can confirm that neither 4.4.3 nor 4.4.4 broke root.

Hi FF! - I know some (keyword "some") about rooting, I have my TF101 rooted and am running a custom ROM on it, and in fact the ROM I run (KatKiss) is a 4.4.4 ROM, but when you say it didn't break root, is that different than some root apps themselves not running? I thought that was what the article was referring to. I have been considering rooting my N7 for some time now - so good you are confirming that it still works. Are you just rooted, and running the 4.4.4 factory image, or are you running a custom ROM?

    Rooted, factory image. Running 4.4.4.

But....if I am not mistaken, the info released on the android L yesterday suggests that it will run on Art instead of Dalvik...maybe this is what the article was referring to. It does state 4.4.3 in the article but they could have just got the update wrong.
