    Can't access People

How do I access people on my contact list when composing an email? I thought it would autocomplete when I started to enter the address but no. I was told that if I tapped on the name in people and then tapped on the address that would prompt me with the email app, it doesn't!
I can't find any way of getting an address off my People list other than go to the list, read it then go back to the gmail app and enter it!
(By the way, I range Google and the guy I spoke to didn't know, he reckoned that Gmail would over time would remember address's ! Ridiculous!)

I have 2, the first was Gmail the second is the standard email app for use with another account (not Google),
All the contacts are in People (silly name).

    Osmodia,
I am having the same problem, it does not seem right. It makes an easy task long winded.
Noticed that mine is now 4.4.2 from today.

    osmodia,
I have tried a couple of things that was recommended to me by some good people on here, but they did not work.
You may like to try them yourself and see how you get on! It should still be in the Support Heading.

I would recommend a different app. I use maildroid.. It is free on the play store, but there are other apps. Mail droid let's you combine multiple email addresses in the one app so no need to use 2 apps for different emails. Also it does use the people app contacts and I have never had an issue with it not auto filling

I'm a K-9 user for a couple of years now. Handles 3 different email addresses/servers.

Yes, I've heard nothing but good things about K-9 ... seems to be a well made app.

    Hi danvee,frenziedfemale and osmodia,
Since my last reply I have been in contact with Google about the People App and at first they said to go back to the App provider but when I explained that it was already on the Tablet she has passed the query on to the Specialist Tech Dept.
I will keep you in touch.
