    Can't Get On The Net

Hi, I am brand new to this site and looking for help please.
My Nexus 10 (Android version 4.4.3) is giving me a major problem after years of perfect performance. When I switched it on the other day, I got a message along the lines of " virus trying to access tablet, do you want to cancel network connection?" (not exactly those words) I switched it off and ever since then I can't get on to the internet. When I go into "settings" and switch on Wi-Fi and enter my router password it shows that it is connected and the message says "secured with WPA/WPA2 (WPS also available) and the internet sign has a small picture of a lock at the side of it.
Nothing happens and I still can't get a connection to the internet. Any advice please?
    thanks

Hi al shookup - and welcome to the forum!

Is this your home or a know wifi network? Usually a padlock indicates a secure network. I would suggest two things:

1.) Reboot into safe-mode and see if you are able access the internet.

2.) Boot in normal mode, go to Settings, long press on the wifi network and select "Forget" - then reboot and try setting the wifi up again.
