    franco Kernel

    [KERNEL][GPL][N4] franco.Kernel - r28 - xda-developers

Since I've been using it for a couple of weeks now, just thought I would let you guys know about my experience with franco's kernel. Compared to stock, franco's kernel has significantly improved my battery life.

Maybe not screen on time (still testing that) but off the charger at 7:30 am with moderate usage, and back on around 11:30pm, I will be around ~30-40%, 2 hours of screen time probably (and lots of G+ Messenger usage)

r28 has been entirely stable and I have not had any issues with it. I would highly recommend giving it a try

It's one of the kernels I've tried.

Hmm ... I'm getting lag on the unlock screen occasionally. Still seems smooth though, haven't tried to do much on r30 yet.

I haven't had any problems with r29 or r30 but I'm also running CM 10.1.

Ya, I went back to r28 this morning. Getting less battery drain and (seemingly) smoother/consistent performance.

I flashed r33 this morning, supposed to stop the data drops.

Franco improves battery life - a little bit.
But kernel from CM 10.1 is faster (no difference in everday life, but faster in Antutu), without too much draining the battery.
It all depends on the selected parameters and options - not the name of the kernel.

Welcome to the forum. Glad you decided to join us. I've tested both kernels with Antutu and Francos was faster than CM 10.1 kernel.
