    Possible Nexus 6P battery issues after 7.1.1 Android update

    The internet is all abuzz with tons of Nexus 6P owners reporting their phones dropping over dead with batteries at levels of 60%, 40% etc., after the update to Android 7.1.1

    It appears rolling back to Android 6 doesn't fix the issue, several people speculating something in the 7.1.1 update actually damages their batteries. Just a heads-up before you apply the update if you have a 6P, or if you have already applied the update, are you experiencing this problem? Some suggest it has to do with 2015 builds of the phone, and the 2016's are OK? Who knows...

    I have 7.1.1 on my N6P and have not noticed any change in battery performance so far. Its a 2016 one. The 2015 one died earlier this year.

    @stuartajc,

    Did your 6P 2015 die from anything battery related?

    It crashed and then went into a bootloop state, so not likely to be battery related I'd think

    Does anyone know if Pure Nexus's 7.1.1 release for the 6p has these or any other issues?

    Thank You

    Not sure, would hate to steer you the wrong way ... you may find a better answer on XDA's 6P forums, or someone else here may chime in.
