    a hack for landscape mode

I found this article about a hack you can do, and you can have the menus in landscape.

Nexus 7 tablet UI hack opens up landscape use - SlashGear

I kinda doubt I'd do this to mine though

I can see myself checking it out. But I feel like portrait mode would be better suited for me anyway.

I think for me it would depend on if the soft keys stay on the side when watching a movie in landscape. If they do, and it interferes with getting a native 720p resolution, the hack is a definite must.

I know my 10" tablet has the same screen resolution and it is in portrait most of the time.

Meh, it just feels kind of... off looking at those screenshots. Granted, I'm sure everything scales just fine, but I've just gotten so used to seeing all of the N7 stuff in portrait. Never hurts to have alternatives though!

LadyAngler discovered you can use HD Widgets and use the Tilt Toggle to force Landscape.

Also, I believe these apps will do it:

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...eit.rotate&hl=
    and
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/d....orientcontrol

These three methods do not require root.

So do these turn with the device as you go through the menus?

Like what I mean is, if I tilt it will it switch or will it stay the same?

Because that's what I'm looking for.

    Thanks for your inputs!

I am pretty sure these lock it into the orientation so that it will not rotate automatically.

    It auto rotates.
    But seems a little buggy
