[Idea] dual-boot the Nexus 7 with windows?

I just happened to be thinking, and came up with the idea that, this tablet has 1.3GHz quad processor, 1GB of ram, and even 12 core GPU.
so it has more than enough power to run windows xp or windows 7 about as well as a netbook.
also a quick search, but didn't find much other than booting with WP7, I just thought it would be a cool idea for the nexus 7, to run window 7/8 on it.

if you have anything else to add please do.

That does sound interesting. But with only a gig of RAM?

I doubt it's possible for Windows 7 simply because of processor architecture. For future versions... who knows? I doubt it. The hardware drivers required probably don't exist for Windows, but there are enterprising uber-geeks out there, so it's tough to say it will never happen.

I don't understand why anybody would want to mess up a perfectly good Android system with windoze.

Are you sure this doesn't belong in the "What Are You Drinking" thread?

Windows RT (8) should run on a Nexus, but they may be short on internal memory to support it. The Surface RT starts at 32gb, with the intel based version starting at 64gb. Windows on a 16gb machine gets crowded very quickly.

It will not meet the minimum hardware requirements set my M$, but it may be possible someone will get it working with Win 8 RT.

How will they get it installed? Just copy it from a device that has Win 8 RT on it? I ask because it seems like Microsoft is going to have it pretty locked down.

copy it from a device that already has RT? ok 1. what is that? none have been released yet. 2. how would you copy the device?
ok but see how people usally get OSs onto their phones and such are, you install windows 8 onto a virtual machine, then copy the VM to a SD card or whatever, then running a little launcher app that opens a .img file of the VM.

I know there aren't devices out yet, I was talking about in the future. An the regular version of Windows is not going to run on a tablet. The public isn't going to have access to the RT version, only OEMs will so I was asking because I don't believe it's going to be possible, at least from what I've read so far. Not sure how you can get an OS that you have no access to on a virtual machine but OK.
