    Question Calendar Syncing ?

This has more than likely been covered in the past.

Having recently purchased a new Nexus 7 32GB with Android 4.4.2 I find in impossible to sync the standard Google calendar with my Gmail calendar. All that syncs are the standard holidays that are built in, no items that I create will sync. HOWEVER by using an aftermarket calendar from the Play store everything syncs just fine.

    Can anyone answer that?

Initially I was not sure that I was going to like the tablet that much but after getting a case from Devicewear that all changed. The Devicewear cove makes it much more comfortable to hold. The on/off feature of the cover is superb. Does anyone know how that function works?

    Does the PlayStore work properly?
Have you tried deleting the account from your Nexus 7 and reestablishing it?

Regarding the case - the secret is a magnet.

Yes I did try deleting, no effect. In searching the net I found that to be some sort of a known issue. Doesn't make sense does it?

Given my personal experience with the N7 2013 and hardware/software/firmware issues, nothing whatsoever would surprise me...

Sounds like you are not particularly thrilled your Nexus. Other than this sync issue which I found the work around for it has done what I expiated from it. Having had an original iPad before I find this more enjoyable to work with.

It's an overall good device with a small percentage of defective ones for which they have no concrete solutions - even repairing them is a temporary fix (so it's obvious that they really don't know the cause).
A few members here have been 'bitten'.
You asked if it made sense that something so basic should be an issue. My answer is that I'm not surprised.....
Can't even blame carrier bloatware as you can with a phone - this is about as plain vanilla Android as you can get.
I'm sure that, eventually, it'll get worked out.

Thanks for your feedback, will have to hope that I am not part of the small percentage.

If you've had it for more than 2 weeks, have no random reboots, screen freezes for 2-10 seconds, or touchscreen issues (where areas will not respond to repeated touches), you're happily in the great majority - rejoice!:thumbup:
