Question No Gallery In Lollipop So Why Is App Still Installed In My Nexus 7?

It's there, twice actually, and wont uninstall. If I try to do that it says Photos uninstalled (they are still there) and the icon and app are still installed.
What should I do, simply disable it?

I find it strange that the new OS wouldn't have removed it during the update.

That's one good reason to do a factory reset after a major update. The OS may not clean up after itself very well.... The process can leave a bunch of detritus in its wake.

Yes, I got the message that my "photo" app would stop working soon and updated it. It didn't clean the old app which now appears twice and the new app is next to useless. Previously I had all my pictures stored in folders which were detected by the photo app and listed. The new app won't look at them. They all need to be transferred to the camera folder to be seen and then they are just one mass. Sorting them into "collections" requires them to be uploaded to the cloud storage. Do I see a charge coming because I need more storage Listen Google, I don't want my pictures on your online storage. I don't trust you. Why not? How about you wanted my credit card before you would let me download the free user manual! And I I'm sick of you dictating how I work. I don't use my Nexus on-line very much anyway. It is used to carry images of my work (I'm an artist) to show potential buyers and for occasional on-the-road on-line hotel booking. My needs are simple but you don't like that. You want your fingers in everything I do. I now realise what a mistake it was buying into the Google empire.
