Since your profile says 2nd Gen Nexus 7 (13) - yes, your Nexus 7 will receive Marshmallow. The Nexus 7 (2012) sadly, will not.

    geordiejohn,

It's released now, you can download and flash the factory image from Google's Developer page or... just sit tight and wait for the OTA (over-the-air) update to make it's way to you. There's a 5.1.1 update OTA out there too, if you get a notification for that, you should apply it while you wait for the 6.0 Marshmallow update.

If you're not experienced with download/flash method, I would recommend you don't - you can damage your device doing so if the update fails.

Even If you're experienced you need to ne careful. I flashed my Nexus 6 back to the stock images and ended up with a 32Gb model instead of a 64Gb model. Supposedly a FDR from the phone or TWRP is supposed to fix it but it didn't, I had to fastbbot these commands to get my 64Gb back:
    fastboot format userdata
    fastboot format cache
    fastboot reboot
Had to start over from scratch but had taken everything on internal storage and placed it on my PC.

So basically they made lollipop, which basically killed the 7(12) and aren't going to try and fix their pile of poo in the middle of the room.
Yes the rooted here can reload an old copy of 4.? But those that took the updated lollipop are left with a poosicle.

    HI:

Likewise, I got the MM OTA late morning from LYM48T in San Francisco for my N7 2013. It doesn't appear to be a poison pill like Lollipop was for the N7 2012.

I am no longer a Google fanboy. Apparently it's a company with a lot of smart people, but their ethics, communication and organizational skills are even worse than Comcast. After what they did to the N7 2012 and the whoppers Google employees told on their forum, if you can call such a mess a forum, I'm shocked if they do anything and of course they never say anything. They dropped their motto, don't be evil, for a reason.
