Question Unable To Connect Nexus 7 Tablet To Any PC

I'm trying to connect my Nexus 7 Tablet to my laptop to transfer images back and forth. I've tried connecting the device as a media device and camera, but I just keep getting the following error.

    Name: usb-not-recognized.jpg
Views: 441
Size: 115.1 KB

I've tried connecting to 2 different laptops to see if it was an issue with the pc, but I get the same error. I've also tried 3 different cables so it's not a hardware issue. I've searched and searched, but haven't been able to find any driver support for this.

    System Specifics:

    Laptop 1
    Model: HP Elitebook
    OS: Windows 7

    Laptop 2
    Model: Toshiba Satelite
    OS: Windows 7

    Tablet
    Model: Nexus 7
    Android Version: 5.1.1 Lollipop

Welcome to the forum. What version OS is your Nexus 7 running? On Marshmallow and above there is a pull down menu from the top used to connect to your PC. Should look similar to this.

    Hello ggrant3876,

    I'm running..

    Model: Asus Nexus 7
    Android Version: 5.1.1 Lollipop
    Name: android-version.jpg

Size: 79.7 KB

I've tried both "MTP" & "PTP" settings. I tried doing the same after a restart of both PC's as well as the tablet.

I'm going to try to connect over wifi, but I'm in a building with a super intense firewall so I'll need to request access. It would save a lot of headaches if I can figure out how to connect via usb. If anyone has any input or a "how to" link that would be great.

    Thanks

I may be mistaken but I believe you need an app for wifi transfer. I've never had to go that route but here are a few from the app store.

Shareit. Shareit is most popular and faster as compared to other wifi file transfer apps. ...
    Xender. ...
    Superbeam. ...
    HitcherNet. ...
    Wifi Shoot. ...
    Wifi Share. ...
    Zapya File Transfer. ...

I wasn't going to transfer them over wifi though I suppose I could. I was just going to email jpegs and download them onto the tablet. All I'm trying to do right now is take images from my computer and put them on the tablet. I wanted to do this with a usb cable as it would be easiest and standard.

I was just looking for a fix for this Nexus not connecting via usb.

Can you do a pull down from the top and take a screen shot?

I'm not sure what you're looking for?? Wifi connection???

I can't connect the tablet to any computer so I've been taking screen shots with my phone. I can't currently transfer a screenshot.
