    Rooting first generation Nexus 7

Hi! My new Nexus 7 first generation came with Android 4.4 and I don't like it due to some touchscreen problems in game. If I root my tablet is there any possibility of also unrootinit, so that I don't lose my warranty ? Someone told me that this is not possible. Also, could you suggest a better Android version? I read that 4.2 is quite good.

Wugfresh Nexus Root Tool Kit (Google it) can do all of that.

CleanROM 4.3 is very good, as is Buttered Grouper 4.3 (Again, Google will get you there).

4.3 was a major improvement (for me) over 4.2.x

Others will weigh in with their favorites.

Note that, of course, if you have hardware issues, no OS will fix it.

Thank you for your time! So that tool kit (I'm familiar with the rooting process, it's not the first time I'd do this) can help me make my Nexus 7 as out of the box? Here's what I want to do: I want to install another version of Android, suchs as Buttered Grouper 4.3 as you suggested, see if my problems still persists, and if I don't get rid of them, un-root and re-lock my Nexus 7, so that I can get it to the warranty service. So, this kit helps me do it, right ?

Unlock, Root, install custom recovery, using NRT.

Flash ROM from internal storage or OTG/USB flash drive. (instructions are usually found with ROM)

Use NRT to flash stock, lock and make ready for return/repair.

All instructions are on his site or in the NRT itself.

Guys, I'm desperate. I installed Android 4.3. It seemed to work fine untill I played games. There is still the touchscreen problem, and I don't know why. The on-screen joystick dosen't fucntion well. So I re-stocked the tablet for getting it to the waranty center. I definitely worked a lot better on 4.3, and on 4.4 I still have the same issues as before: even when I type something, it occasionaly dosen't get my commands.. .

If you've sent it out for service, he desperation should be well past.
Hopefully they'll have it fixed right up for you.
