Did you encrypt your files before?

Thank you soooo much for this! It was so simple to do...there is another site that has instuctions on how to restore to factory but it was waaaayyyy more complicated than what you gave us here. You are a great dude for this. worked perfectly. I have to send my nexus back in for the screen issue and creeking and this is exactly what I needed.

    Thanks again!!!

Bootloader locked - can't fastboot oem unlock

I am having a persistent problem with my Nexus 7 (bricked)

Can get into FASTBOOT MODE = grouper 3.34 LOCKED

    Name: fastboot flash fail1.jpg
Views: 2435
Size: 38.0 KB

    flashboot flash bootloader bootloader-grouper-3.34.img
FAILED - remote: Bootloader is locked

    fastboot oem unlock
    FAILED - see screenshot above
N7 screen displays "Unlock bootloader?" dialog
Selecting YES and entering with power button
    produces screen message:
    unlocking now.......
for a few seconds, then replaced with

neither USP nor CRC partitions found
neither USP nor CRC partitions found
neither USP nor CRC partitions found

which repeats every few seconds and fills screen.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Bob Meihofer

Hmm - when you do "fastboot oem unlock", I'm assuming you look on your tablet and select "yes"?

edit: nevermind, missed where you said that the first time... hmmm again

what did you do to brick it?

Grouper did the same for me as well. I thought I bricked it, but I killed it and used Wugs to flash back to stock. From there, I installed Juston Bean ROM, which is my favorite now.
