    Returning a Nexus 7

I need to return my wife's Nexus 7 to the store we purchased it at for a replacement. What is the best procedure to wipe it before the return/exchange? Is it just as easy as wiping it, then entering her GMail account on the replacement device, and then all of her apps will be able to be downloaded again, or is her GMail account, apps and Credit Card tied to the old Nexus 7 device somehow?

Any help or advice is appreciated! Thank you!!

Yes, the GMail account retains app and card data - so it's like you said, wipe old device and sign into your wife's GMail account with the new one ....

Just keep in mind that if you do a factory data reset, it will leave stuff on the SD partition. If you have ADB set up on your computer, you can flash a stock image. If you don't have ADB, the easiest way to completely wipe the device is to use Wug's toolkit.

It's probably a bit dated. I'll find you a recent update.

Great - thank you very much Mujibar! - I would have just done a factory reset too before returning it... Don't want to leave any personal information on it at all...

Just want to say "Thank you" to Mujibar for the recommendation of WugFresh Toolkit - installed the drivers, did a few backups to get familiar with it, then unlocked, rooted, flashed a factory image, and relocked it. I'd say it's ready to return to the store now, with no worry about personal data left behind.
