    [SOLVED] Black/Bricked Nexus 7

So I get home to a dead N7 today. 100% stock. Daughter was watching netflix on it last night. Today its black. Tried 2 chargers & four different sockets.

    Ideas on what to check?

Can you get into (or see for that matter) the bootloader?

I'm not able to power the device on. Maybe one of the pins in the micro usb port is jacked?

    re: [SOLVED] Black/Bricked Nexus 7

I was searching google this morning for possible solutions. Came across a post by ‘chismay’ (from London) on xda-developers forum:
    *
From Powered Down.* Hold VOL- and POWER for ten seconds, then let go of POWER and still hold down VOL-
    *
    This worked!!
    *
Any idea what happened to cause this?

That's basically a hard reset, so maybe it just had the equivalent of a blue screen of death... not sure what would've caused it, but sounds like something was seriously hung up deep down in the system.

Yes I know I just stated the obvious... lol

This happened to me a couple times within the first month or two after I got it. Hasn't happened since. No idea what the problem was since both times it happened while I was not using it.
