    Updating the BT email account

I have messages from BT concerning the change from BTyahoo mail to BT email.

I've established it's IMAP and followed the instructions
    Settings
    Accounts
    IMAP
    Account settings
    email address

the instructions then say to press 'remove account', below incoming/outgoing settings, but this option does not appear.
When I press the three dots at top right of screen I just get a send feedback response.

My email stopped working when BT moved me over to BT mail. My laptop is still receiving emails.

I phoned BT help without success.

What do I do now to get my email account back?

    Many thanks,

    Pam

I will assume you are using stock email app. Go to settings/accounts..tap your BT account then tap the 3 dots top right and select remove account.
Go into the mail app and add the new account as per the settings you were given.

Brilliant, I've deleted the email account.

BT tell me to go to Settings, Add Account, Choose IMAP, use the Set up Wizard to enter email acct name & password and then to click Manual Setup.

From there it says to ** 'Set up your Incoming email settings for BT Mail by entering the following:
•In the "IMAP server" field: enter mail.btinternet.com
•In the "User name" field: enter your BT email address
•In the "Password" field: enter your BT email address password
•In "Security type": select SSL or, if this is not available, select SSL/TLS
    and to click Next.

What actually appears on my screen at stage ** is User Name, Password, Server - this last is already showing 'imap.btinternet.com'

Regardless of whether I change the server to 'mail.@btinternet.com', leave it as imap or add the word mail in between imap and bt.internet -

when I click 'Next' the message 'Cannot open the connection to server' always appears.

    What am I doing wrong?

Thanks, Pam (and sorry for the verbosity)

    Ummm...wrong password!
The correct password automatically created the email account without me entering a dicky bird and is showing my updated emails.

Thank you for your help, I know where to come next time I have a problem.
