    Email Problem

    Hi everyone- trying to connect to a Karoo(Kcom) account, entering all my details for POP etc but keep getting 'Couldn't finish-couldn't open connection to server' msg.I have internet connection obviously, any thoughts....?

    Hi Matty!

    What email client are you using to connect? Are you sure you have the ISPs port number correct in your client? Maybe you need to accept or import their certificate to your client to connect?

    Look for Kcom on this list for port numbers...

    Thanks Jim- corrected server address on incoming settings which got me thru to outgoing server settings,changed port from 587 to 25 on the link you sent me.This didn't work so went back to 587,again msg came up as 'couldn't open connection to server'...?

    I don't know then Matty - still not sure what email client you are using for your POP... have you tried talking to KCom's tech suppport?

    How do I know which client I'm using Jim- I presumed it was Karoo from Kcom...?

    Matty, I see Karoo has a web client, where you can read/send emails from your web browser, but usually for POP3 you have a client on your device. On a PC it might be Thunderbird, or on an Andriod device, K-9 Mail is an excellent client for POP3 mail. Some people setup the GMail client to use POP3 from someome else other than Google. So the client would be the program you are configuring to connect/read your emails from KCom.
