Thanks - is the screen protector just to prevent damage or for better contact?

I purchased a SkinomiŽ TechSkin Screen Protector and a SUPCASE Slim Fit Folio Leather Case from Amazon and I'm happy with both purchases.

I'm 74 years old and my hands aren't as steady as they once were, but I find a wet application (wash hands, spray solution liberally on hands and on sticky side of protector) to be easier and more forgiving than a dry application. I suggest watching:

    It's a big help.

Maybe I'll give a wet one a try. I've only tried dry protectors, and it's always been so frustrating with a tiny piece of dust and bubbles that I no longer use them.

    I still prefer dry.
Only had a couple of dust speck problems in the past, and some packing tape fixed it.
Much prefer the smooth, non pebbled look and feel of dry.
The best of the wet still look orange peeled to me and feel 'draggy' to both finger and stylus.

I was walking around my local mall and I was looking for the Zagg Stand to see when they might get their SPs in when I noticed a Ghost Armor kiosk. I've heard of them, of course, but I never actually tried them. So I went up to the guy and he asked what device I'd like to protect today and didn't even try to sell me on it at first. He basically let me ask the questions, which I like in a salesman so I was like, "What the hell?" Same price and guarantee as Zagg and this guy would install it for me so I don't have to go through this horrendous process myself (I'm not lazy, I just thought it was a decent deal). If he screws it up he has to try it again. Anyways, I just now passed the 24-hour period they suggested to wait for it to dry and so far it's pretty good. I barely notice it and it doesn't mess with the touch controls and unlike the Zagg it isn't SUPER thick and has that scale-y look. I'm a little worried about the thinness of it, but I've seen around online that it still protects just as well. I'd definitely recommend for anyone looking for an alternative.
