    Windows to Android

Since this will be my 1st experience w a tablet & I don't use an Android cell phone, any suggestions/links on making the transition from Windows to Android, besides the help file it will have? From what I read Android is superior in many ways which will be welcome. Thanks.

It depends on what you're looking for :
    A portable reader?
    A portable media device?
    A portable gaming system?
    A GPS?
    A handy dandy word processor?

The best hint I can give is try free stuff from the PlayStore... There's a lot of it.
I use mine for everything from moderating forums to, shopping, email, reading, watching TVs/movies.
My cable company even has an app to control my set top box.

    Basically explore and enjoy.
Any specific questions on an app or function, ask away...

OK thanks...I know I will have questions after I start using it. I plan to use it for a little of everything - a reader & for creative work - getting ideas down quickly (dictation), some field recording, basic photography/video (if you can shoot video...I'll be interested to see what controls the camera has)...I'm a musician but not a computer tech... it sounds like some of the guys are here.

Can't answer a lot of specifics there as I don't have the Gen2 in my hands, but I figure that video isn't an issue.
Internal mic is going to be frequency limited. Maybe the use of a USB or BT mic, but there's no standard wired mic input.
There are some good apps for music, like page turning for sheet music. Some pretty cool instruments and sequencers as well.
I see a number of musicians using iPads for that : Android is catching up albeit slowly.

Not a problem...I just want to capture ideas as they come & then I can do the final recording & mix on my DAW at home. Also I want to capture lines of poetry as they come, so sound quality isn't an issue. I will be interested in the easiest/quickest way to dictate, but no sense speculating until I get my hands on it.

FYI this looks like a nice recorder if anyone's interested & there is a basic free version:
