Saw this a few times today. Not giving me warm fuzzies. But Qualcomm might decide to quit being stupid and we could still get the factory images.

Or, I'm guessing that ASUS might go ahead and release it....
Mine might just go back to GameStop until it's assured....

Here's hoping they relent. If not, that means no rooting, not custom ROMs, right?
Fudge... I just gave one to a friend as a gift, and I know she was looking forward to rooting and playing with ROMs on it. Sheesh, I shoulda waited...

There's root and a couple of custom ROMs already. I think you need the binaries to get tons of customization like we've been used to. Don't quote me on that, though. But who could've guessed this? There's still hope in my mind. Like danvee said, Asus might release everything.

    This is interesting... http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...php?p=44023595

Looks, smells and tastes like a factory image.... Certainly acts like one.
Unless it doesn't reconstruct or reflash all of the partitions as an image would....

From what I can tell, it was ripped from a stock FHD N7. The only thing the batch file doesn't do is unroot. Other than that, it'll take you back to complete stock. So at least there's that for a safety net.

    If it's stock, it's unrooted.
I guess it's better than nothing....
