    The thing with many names..

Amazon dubbed it the Nexus 7 FHD, Google calls it the Nexus 7 2013.
Now we have 'razor' and 'flo' ..

I like N7 (2013). Leaves no room for confusion...

Still very confusing, especially to the accessories manufacturers.

Google should be the one standardizing the name. The other Nexus devices also have dual hardware & image names. For example, the VZW Galaxy Nexus has the hardware name of toro and image name of mysid. Same with the 2012 N7 -- grouper & nakasi.

And now we have a fifth: "Nexus 7 2nd Generation"
Wouldn't "Nexus 7HD" have been easier?

Strictly speaking the original was HD, just not full. For that reason I like Amazon's FHD designation.

Look at Samsung's Galaxy Tab line. Tab 3 7, Tab 3 8, Tab 3 10. Those designations make perfect sense to me, but I think they leave most consumers scratching their heads.

Whatever it takes to differentiate the 2 clearly and unmistakably.
If the 7 weren't the screen size, Nexus 7.2 might have worked.....

Or Nexus7-2. It's how I differentiate photos of edited vs original.

Nexus 7 FHD is my vote. Seems like it's better from a branding perspective but that just my take. I agree with everyone though when I say it is very confusing. I hate walking into Best Buy or talking to someone on the phone and I say the 'New Nexus 7' that just released and they are like, "Huh? You mean the one Google released a year ago? Yeah we've had accessories for that forever"
