Bad pixel after just a week!

Good thing I had used the dickens out of mine already. One pixel completely died to where it's pure black, very evident against a white background, and even at 1/323rd of an inch still visible on the initial setup screen it was evident against one of the light purple stripes. (I'd done a full wipe and flash of the stock ROM before returning it.)

I must say, Best Buy is a completely shopping experience than it used to be. Fast, friendly, and the gal immediately started looking at inventory once she saw the pixel.

What I've noticed is that touch response under CleanROM 1.3 was much better than the first update to the shipped version of 4.3, and under JSS15Q it's much much better. It's just as sensitive now as my original Nexus 7, maybe more.

Are they still only June/July production, or is your new one August?

    This one's June, oddly enough.

No, it didn't occur to me to look, but I did compare serial numbers. This one's numerical portion is lower, if that means anything.

Something else I've noticed, this one doesn't get as warm, even after an hour straight. I didn't complain about the first one I got, figuring a little more warmth than the first generation was the price of a slimmer design.

    Casual use or serious gaming?
Mine doesn't get very warm. Actually a bit cooler (to my calibrated hands ) than my N7 2012.
