Ubuntu Forums for Nexus 10 is live!

We are right around the corner (Feb 21) for the Touch Preview of Ubuntu and we are pretty excited to get out hands on it. As of right now the company hasnít discussed any hardware partners for the final version of the OS, but itís expected to be compatible with a variety of ARM-powered tablets from 6″ to 20″. Anyone going to be snatching up the touch preview?

Other than being a geek; do you get anything from this that Android does not provide?

I hope they can pull it off. They got a tough road ahead with carriers locking down phones, but tablets (at least looks like) are the market they are pushing for. I do like everything being easy to access along with advanced multitasking features like the windows they were showing and being able to use a 'side menu' like in Windows 8 (yeah I know he said unique...but only to tabs). I'm also holding back to see if it gets any dev support. I'm pretty sure it will, given the open source nature of Ubuntu, but just to be sure...I'll hang on Google for a while.

Since Ubuntu is a full desktop level OS you are able to run a thin client of Windows thus giving you full access to any windows desktop application.
Programs such as Microsoft Office, Visual Studio, Even 3D Studio Max.

    Android can't yet do this.

Not right now you can't.. Maybe in the official non-preview release but as of right now that is a very very long way off.

So has anyone here gone ahead and installed Ubuntu on their Nexus 10 yet? I've only had mine for about 3 hours so it's not my duty!
